Episode 22: Discover your Family History at the Clayton Library

In this episode of Spotlight Houston, host Blanca Quezada interviews Susan Kaufman, the head of the Houston Public Library’s Family History Research Center at the Clayton Library Campus. Kaufman discusses the importance of researching one’s family history and the role that the Clayton Library plays in helping individuals do so.

She explains that the library is a research library focusing on genealogy and local history and offers a variety of resources and services to assist patrons with their research, including a large collection of books, newspapers, and photographs, as well as access to online databases and a reference desk for research assistance.

Kaufman also mentions the library’s upcoming events, including genealogy workshops and lectures on local history, and encourages listeners to visit the library and take advantage of the resources and expertise of the librarians.

  1. Thank you, Clayton Library for getting me started on my journey to find my Ancestors. I have spent many hours there researching the books and the films to find matches to my Family Tree.
    I began to find information on the Munson side of my Family Tree when I found the Munson Collection of books. I have been hooked ever since.
